We Are Walking and Barking!

Well, the boys are walking. Louie was the first to walk, then Ponder. Rizel started walking this afternoon. The girls are still just crawling around, but they look like they will be walking anytime.

Barking is another new skill that the puppies recently acquired. Well, they sort of bark. Image is the only quiet one.

Puppy Names

The puppies all have names now. The theme was the Kentucky Derby. Well, sort of... most race horses have strange names that really don't work for puppies. Austin named the red merle boy Rizel (the only puppy not named after the Derby). The blue merle boy is Louie, short for Louisville. The red and white girl is Chant. The black and white girl is Image, short for Dancer's Image. The red and white boy is Ponder.

Vision ate dinner and is nursing the puppies. Everyone is settled in and doing well.

After a stressful day that ended in a c-section, Vision is home with her new family and resting comfortably. She is the proud mama of five new puppies. Unfortunately, two of Vision's seven puppies did not survive the c-section. It has been an emotional day...

Vision's temperature dropped to 98.5 degrees around 2:00 p.m. She is panting and restless...puppies should be here soon!

The time is getting near and Vision is getting a bit uncomfortable. At the flyball tournament this weekend, people guessed how many puppies Vision was going to have, the gender breakdown of the litter, and when the pups would be born.
